1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Dropzone Fishing ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the Dropzone Fishing application (the "Service"). We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form).
• Location information: your device's GPS location (only when you grant permission), and the location of any fishing spot or coordinate you choose to save.
• Saved content: fishing spots, catch logs, session notes, drone and equipment preferences.
• Usage information: general app usage and diagnostic information, used to keep the Service running reliably.
• Subscription/billing information: when you purchase a paid plan, payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment provider — we do not store your full card number.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide the core features of the Service, including saving your private fishing spots and displaying local weather, tide, and seabed information for your location;
• Maintain and secure your account;
• Process subscription payments;
• Communicate with you about your account or changes to the Service;
• Improve and maintain the reliability of the Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not display third-party advertising within the Service.

4. Your fishing spots and catch data stay private

Unlike some fishing apps, Dropzone Fishing has no public social feed. Fishing spots, GPS coordinates, and catch logs you save are private to your account and are not visible to other users, searchable, or shared, except as required to provide the Service to you (e.g. storing it securely on our hosting infrastructure) or as required by law.

5. Who we share information with

We share limited information with:

• Infrastructure and hosting providers who store and process app data on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations;
• Weather, tide, and government marine-data providers — we send your selected coordinates to these services to retrieve forecast/tide/seabed information for that location; we do not send them your name or account details;
• Payment processors, for subscription billing, once payment processing is enabled;
• Law enforcement or regulators, only where required by Australian law.

We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

6. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information, including account-level access controls so that a user can only see their own saved spots and data. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data retention

We retain your account and saved data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account within the app, your locally cached data is cleared from your device, and we will delete or de-identify your account data from our systems within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.

8. Your rights

Under Australian privacy law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and request correction of any inaccurate information. You can:

• View and edit most of your saved information directly within the app;
• Delete your account and associated data at any time from the app's settings;
• Contact us via our Contact page for any other privacy request or complaint.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. International data storage

Your information may be stored on servers located outside Australia, depending on our hosting provider's infrastructure. Your information is currently stored on servers located in the United States, as provided by our hosting infrastructure (Base44). Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to receive an appropriate level of protection.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and highlight material changes within the app where practical.
